#AskC2E2 Tweet-up with @katiecandraw Recap!

Katie CookOn March 13, 2014, Katie Cook took a few minutes before heading to London to chat with C2E2. We discussed her favorite characters to draw, if it’s easier to run a web comic or produce a print comic and, of course, her favorite My Little Pony.

C2E2: Q1: You’ve drawn a variety of characters from DC, Star Wars, My Little Pony, etc. Do you have a favorite character to work on?

@katiecandraw:  A1: I love to draw anything from the Muppets or Star Wars… the two loves of my nerdy life!

C2E2: Do you have a favorite muppet? Ours is Gonzo #AskC2E2

KC: Kermit and Sweetums! Gonzo is right up there in the top 5.

C2E2: Q2:You have an adorable web comic called Gronk. Do you think it’s easier to run a web comic or produce a printed comic?

KC: A2: I think a webcomic is easier… I am my own editor, so I am lenient with myself if I'm a tiny bit late with my deadlines. #AskC2E2

C2E2: Q3: A lot of your work is family-friendly, is that important to you?

KC: A3: it IS important to me. I have 2 kids! I want things they can enjoy. Kids are the future of comics and they need comics to read!

C2E2: Q4: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic #17 is set to release this month! What can we expect?

KC: A4: Magic, beards, love, friendship, magical beards, ponies, philosophical waxing and waning…. Deep stuff. Ponies.

C2E2: Q5: Now for the tough question: Which little pony is your favorite and why?

KC: A5: TWILIGHT SPARKLE. My mom basically had me growing up in a library. Spike is my spirit animal….er… dragon.

C2E2: Q6: last one from us @katiecandraw - Any advice for aspiring comic creators?

KC: A6: This is an easy one…
Draw every day.
Read every day.
Don't let anyone tell you you can't make funny books.

C2E2: thanks for taking the time to tweet with us today @katiecandraw - we can't wait to see you at #C2E2!

KC: @c2e2 Thank you so much! #AskC2E2 See everyone in Chicago SOON!
