What Is C2E2?

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo – also known as C2E2 – is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. From a show floor packed with hundreds of exhibitors, to panels and autograph sessions giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators, to screening rooms featuring sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either the big or small screen, C2E2 brings the best of popular culture to downtown Chicago!

When Is C2E2?

The third C2E2 will take place in April 26-28, 2013!

Where Is C2E2?

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo is held at the West Building at McCormick Place located at 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois. See our Travel page for directions and more information.

Who's The Organizer?

C2E2 is another killer event by Reed Pop. ReedPOP also runs the New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celebrations, UFC Fan Expos and PAX.

Who Needs A Ticket?

All attendees six-years-old and up need a ticket to enter C2E2. Please note, C2E2 recommends all children under 18 attend with an adult, and all children under 13 must be accompanied by a grown up.

Can I Take Pictures?

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video at C2E2; however, please note that all photography and recording is prohibited during screenings and concerts. Also, please understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans. Guests have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

Will I Be On Camera?

C2E2 will attract local, national, and international press. By attending C2E2, you give your consent to be photographed and appear on camera.

Will Guests Sign Autographs?

Guests will sign autographs both on C2E2's Autograph Stages and at various booths in the Exhibition Hall. C2E2's full schedule, coming a month before our show, will list all the signings taking place on the Autograph Stages, and booth signing schedules will be posted throughout the Exhibition Hall. Guests will sign your Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo program guide and officially licensed DVDs, comics, toys, and other collectibles, but they will not sign bootleg merchandise. Also, please only bring one item to be signed during each autograph session and understand that guests may or may not pose for photographs with fans.

Do You Offer Wheelchairs For Disabled Attendees?

McCormick Place rents scooters, wheel chairs, and oxygen equipment through its preferred mobility service partner, Scootaround Inc. Mobility equipment can be reserved in advance and will be waiting for you at McCormick Place or can be delivered to any Chicago area hotel. Is There Wifi In Mccormick Place?

Yup! Free WiFi will be available at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.

What Do I Do If I Find/Lose Something?

Please bring all found items to the Show Office or the Security Office. The Lost and Found is located in the Security Office.

What If I Get Hurt?

A wheelchair-accessible first aid station staffed by EMS and EMTs can be found on Level 1 by Room G150. In addition, two hospitals are situated within minutes of McCormick Place. City ambulances will be called to transport patients when needed. If you're hurt, please reach out to a C2E2 staff member,and we'll get you help.

What Does C2E2 Think of Bootlegs?

The buying and selling of counterfeit / knock-off / unlicensed materials is not tolerated at C2E2. The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo is a celebration of the best of popular culture, and bootlegs have no place in the show. Violation of this rule will result in one and only one warning. A second violation and you'll be removed from the show.

What If I'm Harassed?

Harassment of any kind, including stalking, deliberate intimidation, unwelcome physical attention, physical assault, and battery, will not be tolerated at C2E2. If it's illegal outside the convention center, it's illegal inside the convention center. Harassment is grounds for removal from the convention without refund as well as potential legal action. We want C2E2 to be a safe, open, and accepting environment for all fans, and if you find yourself victim of harassment at the convention, please come immediately to C2E2's Show Office.

What Does C2E2 Think of Weapons?

Please read this entire policy before attending C2E2. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund. The following items are generally forbidden at C2E2:

  • Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns, and pellet guns)
  • Realistic replica firearms (including any reproduction, fake, or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)
  • Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons, and water guns)
  • Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatchets, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes, and switch blades)
  • Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
  • Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
  • Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs, and nunchaku)
  • Instruments which cause excessive noise (including vuvuzelas)
  • Whips

Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of cardboard, foam, wood, or other light materials. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with a brightly-colored cap. Prop bows will be allowed providing all arrows have soft tips.

Metal-bladed weapons can be bought and sold provided they are not sharpened, remain in their sheathes while on display, and are placed in sealed boxes immediately upon purchase.

Basically, don't be an idiot. If you bring something that could maim, damage, or cause serious bodily harm, we're going to take issue. If you're smart, come to C2E2 to have a good time, and have a Zangetsu made out of wood instead of steel, we're going to welcome you to the show.
