A List of What to See and Do at C2E2 2016
Welcome to the Con family! For a first-timer, a comic convention can be an overwhelming experience. There’s so much to see and do; where do you even start? That’s where we come in. We here at C2E2 want to help you navigate the Show so you have the best first C2E2 experience ever! Here’s a list of 10 awesome activities to check out while you’re here so you don’t miss any of the exciting content going on all C2E2 weekend long.
1. Download the C2E2 App
Make sure you download the C2E2 App. The Official C2E2 App will be your best friend as it helps you navigate your way around the Show; create a custom schedule of your favorite Panels, Guests, Autograph Sessions, Artists and Exhibitors; snap photos with our cool photo frames and more! The C2E2 App is also where we have the most updated information in case of any schedule or content changes.
Available for download for iPhone and Android.
2. See our Panels
C2E2 Panels are a huge weekend highlight. Fans with common interests gather together to listen to featured Guests talk about their career experience and even answer your questions! Some Panels teach you skills—like how to get your comic book published or survive the zombie apocalypse. Others feature the cast and crew of a hit TV show or movie where they share behind-the-scenes sneak peeks. Panels are also a great way to sit and relax after walking the Show Floor all day without missing out on the fun. Stop by Rooms S401-S406 to join in.
3. Shop comics, Show Exclusives and merch
As you walk C2E2’s Show Floor, you’ll see plenty of our awesome Exhibitors. At their Booths, you’ll have the opportunity to add more comics to your collection, pick up a shirt featuring your favorite fandom or snag some merch created exclusively for C2E2. Discover something new or grab a gift for a friend. Our Show Floor has it all! Don’t forget to stop by the ReedPOP Supply Co. Show Store at the entrance of the Show Floor for all Official C2E2 merch.
4. Meet Comic, Entertainment and Literary Guests
Do you go geek out over Batman comics or fangirl over Supergirl? Do you devour YA novels in a matter of hours? Then we’ve got a Guest for you! Meet the people who create comics, books, TV shows, movies and more. Check out who’s coming and where you can see them in our Program Guide, the Official C2E2 App or plan your schedule before you get to C2E2 via MY SHOW.
5. Commission an Artist
There are plenty of goodies to take home and cherish after C2E2 is over, but nothing is more unique than an original illustration from one of our Artists in Artist Alley. Love Game of Thrones and Jessica Jones? Have an Artist draw Jessica on the Iron Throne. Or better yet commission them to draw you on the Iron Throne. The possibilities are endless!
6. Make new friends in the Fan Village and repair Cosplay in the Cospitality Lounge
The C2E2 Fan Village is a place to meet friends (new & old), play games and geek out over all the things that bring us together—whether that includes who’s the best Doctor or if Han really shot first. It’s a place where you can charge your phone or sit and take a breather, too. The Fan Village is also home to our Cospitality Lounge where Cosplayers can regroup for meet-ups, photo ops, changing rooms, costume repairs and more. There is so much more to experience here, so be sure to stop by the C2E2 Fan Village and Cospitality Lounge in S100 to join in on the fun!
7. Visit the Family HQ
Looking for some family friendly activities? Then the Family HQ, sponsored by Yo-Kai Watch and Medieval Times, is the place to be. We’re packing Room S100 full of hands-on workshops, arts & crafts and more. Laugh, learn and create all weekend long! And on Sunday, March 20, kids take over C2E2! Kids Day is filled with even more activities for the whole family including a costume parade for your littlest Jedi.
8. C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay
The C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay, sponsored by Autodesk®, is the biggest and most prestigious costume contest in the world and the final stop in the ReedPOP’s 2016 “Quest for the Crown” global cosplay competition circuit. For the first time ever, the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay will feature regional cosplay champions from around the world. Countries represented include the United States, Australia, China, Austria, Singapore, Indonesia and France. Cosplayers will battle it out for over $10,000 in cash prizes as well as the title of Global Champion of Cosplay. The contest will feature judges Ann Foley (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Stephanie Maslansky (Marvel’s Daredevil), Yaya Han (King of the Nerds) and Leri Greer (Mad Max: Fury Road) all whom have prestigious backgrounds in pop culture and costume design. Fans will witness the spectacle and pageantry of a fun-filled competition on Saturday, March 19 at 7:00 PM on the Main Stage.
9. Chill at the Block
The Block at C2E2, located in the middle of the Show Floor, brings together art, design, collectible toys and fashion of the underground pop culture scene along with the tastemakers, trend setters, artists, thinkers and the brands they create. Back again in 2016 is the Block Stage which will feature live art from some of the top artists in the industry.
10. Enjoy yourself!
First and foremost, C2E2 is about you—the Fans. There’s plenty to see and do, so choose what you love and enjoy the Show. Afterwards, stop by the FunimationNow Bar at the Hyatt McCormick to meet new friends and enjoy Galaxy Hero – the Official Beer of C2E2.
