Asexuality, aromanticsm, and the a-spectrum have gained increased visibility in recent years—as have critiques concerning media representations of a-spec experiences and identities. Like other types of queer-coding, asexuality and aromanticism have historically been villainously and/or neurodivergently-coded. This panel will explore the legacy of toxic representation and consider how such cycles can be intersectionally challenged/broken, with a focus on elevating the voices of a-spec creators.
