A Drink On Us at The C2E2 Pre-Party

C2E2 starts on Friday, April 16th, but we’re gathering guests and fans to kick it off with a pre-party on Thursday night. Starting at 9 PM on April 15, C2E2 is taking over Mother’s (26 West Division), and we want to welcome you with a free drink. Show your VIP Badge (or give us your name) at the Check-In Table to get a complimentary drink ticket to start the party off. C2E2 guests will be about, and the show team will be there in grey C2E2 Staff T-Shirts. We want to make sure the con starts off well for you, so let us know if there’s anything you need. Please note, you must be 21 to get in, so make sure and bring your ID.

Free General Admission into The Evening With Neil Gaiman

One of the items in the C2E2 VIP Package is reserved seating for the events in the IGN Theater. We aimed to include most of our main events in this room, however, many have been moved into other spaces at C2E2. There are still two big events happening in the IGN Theatre – Celebrating Star Wars and The Evening With Neil Gaiman. What’s this mean, as a VIP, for you? You get into Celebrating Star Wars, and we’re including Free General Admission into The Evening With Neil Gaiman, as well. Please note, if you’d like a free ticket to Gaiman, you still need to RSVP by 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 11. (Free ticket information is mailed individually to VIPs.)

Guaranteed Seating in Panel Rooms 450 and 451

We moved some of our biggest events into rooms 450 an 451. Each seats over 1,000 fans and includes panels such as Mondo Marvel, DC Nation, Brightest Day, Join The BRPD, The Cleveland Show, and Indie Is In. These are panels with some of the largest names at C2E2 -- from Marvel, DC and beyond. And, now, by showing your VIP Badge, you’ll be guaranteed a seat. We’ll have staff at the door who will be able to assist you in getting to the reserved VIP sections of both these rooms. (We’ll also have staff at the door who’ll be able to seat you in the IGN Theater.) Please, note, though your VIP Pass will get you into almost everything in rooms 450 and 451, there are two Friday events that will require a separate ticket. Marvel’s Iron Man: Extremis premiere requires a free ticket you can pick up at the Marvel booth. The Avatar Friday Night event requires a paid ticket that you can buy at the Avatar booth. As these two events require additional tickets, they are first come, first served. Entrance isn’t guaranteed, and there are no reserved VIP seating for them.

Separate Entrance with Early Access to The Show Floor

When you enter Lakeside Center at McCormick Place, you’ll see that the show floor is on Level 3, with Attendee Registration on Level 2. Don’t head down to Attendee Registration and line up in our main Queue Hall. Instead, you’ll find a VIP Desk right outside the entrance to the show floor on Level 3. (It’s next to Exhibitor and Professional Registration.) Head to the VIP Desk if you have any questions about the convention, and also be sure you’re lined up by the VIP Desk around 12:30 on Friday and 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Our show floor opens to the public at 1 PM on Friday and 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Regular attendees will head up through an entrance in the Queue Hall, but before we let them in, we’ll be opening the Level 3 entrance to you. So, be sure you’re up by the Level 3 entrance before the doors open to get first crack at C2E2’s exhibitors and exclusives.

Alex Ross-Designed Badge

Mailed to you in advance of the show. You don't get, though, a lanyard in the mail. To grab a lanyard, simply come by the VIP Desk to pick one up.

Exclusive Alex Ross Sketch Poster and T-Shirt

Alex Ross designed C2E2’s official art – profiles of Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk (with the Chicago skyline reflected in Iron Man’s helmet). You may have seen fully painted versions of this at comic shops and other stores around Chicago, but we prepared a special, behind-the-scenes, sketch poster and VIP shirt just for you. Your poster mails with your VIP Ticket, but your shirt is waiting for you at C2E2’s Show Store. The Show Store is just inside the Exhibition Hall, just simply swing on by the store to pick up your exclusive VIP T-Shirt. Ms. Georgette Simso will be staffing the store, and she’ll be able to help you with a lot of your VIP experience. So, if you’ve got any questions, Georgette will know how to answer them.

10% Off all C2E2-Branded Items In The Show Store

While you’re at the Show Store, you can also purchase a number of C2E2 items for 10% off the general price. Georgette can show you all the C2E2 items – including shirts and pins – and if you’d like any, they’re yours for 10% off.

VIP-Only Lounge and Coat Check

We’ve got two rooms at C2E2 reserved just for VIPs. A VIP-Only Lounge (Room 256) and a VIP Coat Check (Room 255). Both are open from 12 PM to 10 PM on Friday, 9 AM to 10 PM on Saturday, and 9 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. C2E2’s Chris Kleine will be running these rooms, so – like Georgette – he’ll be able to assist with your needs. Drop off your coat, boxes, and bags in the VIP Coat Check for free, and then come by the Lounge whenever you need a quiet place to get away from the show floor, itemize your loot, or get a quick snack.

10% Off and 48 Hours Early Access To Special Packages

C2E2’s made three special items available prior to the con – The Evening with Neil Gaiman, a Friday Dinner with Marvel, and Tickets to the Chicago Premiere of Kick-Ass. In all these occasions, VIPs were able to get discounted tickets 48 hours before they were made available to the general public.

The VIP Package is packed with a lot of stuff. Getting you onto the show floor before general attendees gives you a head start to scoop up exclusives, the guaranteed seating in the IGN Theater and the Level 4 panel rooms means you know you'll have a seat for our biggest events (and you won't have to wait in line to get to that seat), our Alex Ross poster, shirt, and badge are all designed with new art created just for C2E2, and the early access to additional special packages means VIPs were the first fans to get their hands on anything and everything C2E2 has to offer.

Please note, as a C2E2 VIP, you’re entitled to a lot, but we just want to make sure you’re aware the badge doesn’t mean you can cut every line and get 10% off everything in the Exhibition Hall. We have over 200 panels and a similar number of exhibitors. Your VIP Pass gets you into three of our largest rooms with special seating and early access onto the show floor, but your badge’s privileges don’t carry over to lines at exhibitors’ booths, prices on autographs and comics for sale on the show floor, etc. If you’ve got a question about what’s included and what’s not, feel free to stop by the VIP Desk, Show Store, or VIP Lounge, and we’ll be able to assist you.
